HOMER B FRANKLIN
How many years have you lived in Southwyck: 12 Years
Occupation/s: Field Services Director for AVI-SPL
Education & Activities: College Degree, Triathlons, riding with Pearland Bicycles group and raising three kids.
How have you served your community in the past or currently? Yes, I am currently on the board of Southwyck Section IV and I have one year left in the term.
Reasons why my appointment to the Board of Directors would be an asset to the Southwyck Community Association, Inc. I am interested in supporting our community as I plan to be here a while. It is important for me to give back as I can.
Are there any things you hope to change or achieve by being on the Southwyck CAI board?
Not at this time. My first interest is to learn.

KEVIN SHAW (Incumbent)
How many years have you lived in Southwyck:
My wife and I moved here in November 1989 and raised our 3 daughters through Pearland HS and Dawson HS.
Occupation/s:
I am a lawyer, currently working for Geico Insurance. Education & Activities:
I earned my undergraduate degree from the University of Texas in 1983, and my J.D. (law degree) from the University of Houston in 1988. When I am not working, I like to camp and do woodworking.
How have you served your community in the past or currently?
I am a member of the executive committee and current Technical Director of NightCourt.org: Lawyers Entertaining for Charity. Over our history we have raised more than $1 million for legal charities that assist the community. I am a current member of the Architectural Review Board for Section 1. I am a volunteer in the maintenance department of New Hope Church – Pearland.
Reasons why my appointment to the Board of Directors would be an asset to the Southwyck Community Association, Inc. :
I hope to add a voice of consideration, objectivity and reason in decisions made for the benefit of the community as a whole. Are there any things you hope to change or achieve by being on the Southwyck CAI board?
I look forward to continuing the work that has been done to insure the beauty and value of our subdivision, particularly in the lake parks and the entrances.

In over 35 years of law practice I have learned to value careful and objective consideration, fairness and even-handedness, and the value of hearing different viewpoints to arrive at a proper solution.

College educated (Bachelor’s degree from the University of Bristol, UK) and interests/activities include numerous sports, photography, travel, reading
How have you served your community in the past or currently?
I am a RISE mentor and have served on the master board since 2017
Reasons why my appointment to the Board of Directors would be an asset to the Southwyck Community Association, Inc.:
I believe my greatest asset to be my willingness to work with the other board members for the good of the entire community, pursuing an agenda that benefits us all.
Are there any things you hope to change or achieve by being on the Southwyck CAI board?
We live in a very lovely community and my goal is, quite simply, to continue to protect and enhance it.
